“ I visited here in November 2025 on one of my trips back to the homeland. I always look for a fish supper (and related items! ) its one of the things (there are many) I miss about not living in the UK/NI any longer. I was never a resident of this side of Belfast, so this was a gamble, instead of going to my usual haunts in South Belfast. Anyway, on with the review (that's why you're here!). Food and service both have five stars because they deserve it. Even when this place was busy, and it was every time I went, the service was quick and friendly and they never got my order wrong. Of course sometimes I had to wait maybe fifteen minutes, but I'm really not that important, so I'm happy to wait for freshly fried food. It was always (I went four times in two weeks) fresh and properly cooked and well packaged. I am giving five starts to all the items I purchased, which were cod, (supper obviously), battered sausages (I LOVE those), curry chip and I think maybe some scampi (?). Everything was amazing and I will definitely go back. Thank you! ⭐ x 5 Just a word on the atmosphere score. I'm not sure there was a restaurant area (there may be but I was just doing take away, so I didn't see it), so I was 'confined' to the take away ordering area. Not much atmosphere in there (is there ever, except late on the weekend?!? ), so I gave it three stars initially, but have since changed it to five as well prior to posting - because of two things - there was always an amazing team behind the counter in the engine room looking after everything and working hard to make it work (and they did!) - I enjoyed watching and listening to them. Secondly there was an older lady (I'm sorry I can't remember her name) - maybe one of the owners - I get that impression. She was so chatty and sweet and had a great sense of humour - I loved that connection (despite how busy everybody was). Customers matter - that shows in everything they do at the Chip Yard! Next time you're on the north shore, give it a try - you won't regret it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ”
